From Port Stephens in the east to Broken Hill in the west, From Murray to the south to Tenterfield in the north: The Local-e Project inlcudes 41 NSW rural and regional councils.

Each of these councils now has a modern, flexible, accessible platform which is a tool for the community engagement of the future. 41 Joomla! websites supported by Jentla multi-site management system gives these councils more capability than they have ever had, simplifies compliance with disclosure and accessibility. Content management, multi-media, community engagement are all available as well as mobile templates and many other tools.

As Buzz Lightyear says: “To infinity and beyond”. Like Buzz we are exploring new and exciting ways to use the Joomla! CMS to deliver what our customers need. This month has seen the challenge of utilising a multi-site management system for the creation of 41 local government websites for councils in rural and regional New South Wales come to fruition, with all sites live or close to live.

This has been an amazing project for the Energetica team to work on, the project is an initiative of the NSW Local-e project. Energetica has replaced the previous proprietary system that had reached its use by date in terms of cost effectiveness and functionality. The brief for this project was to produce a system that required minimal training, that was easy to use and flexible, and that would provide the councils with a platform that could be developed, changed and customised as their technology needs and community expectations changed.

How do you improve on a website that has been broadly recognised for its ability to engage and stimulate action within the community? The DonateLife website is a vehicle for a great initiative that we were proud to represent. However, with the background of the site’s development and the awesome reputation it has, we did have some trepidation over what additional features we could deliver.

Cycle Southern Flinders Crosses the Finish Line!

Cycle Southern Flinders is another fantastic community engagement website that Energetica has been proud to be involved in. This website contains a range of functionality that is designed to promote tourism in the beautiful Southern Flinders Ranges Region of South Australia. There is a bunch of cool stuff on this site (keep reading below...) and it is a credit to the passion and vision of the organisations Tourism Development Officer, Stephen Schwer for getting the concept off the ground.
