Website accessibility is a passion of Energetica's and we are continually striving for best practice in this area. Accessibility can be complicated, but Energetica have developed a range of approaches into our standard practice to ensure our non-profit customers can deliver high level accessibility practices for an affordable rate.
Accessibility is a broad and complex area, it encompasses disability, but also language barriers. The Institute for Cultural Diversity website has been a great opportunity for us to incorporate Google Translate into our websites.
The tool offers the site user a choice of 51 languages including, Afrikaans, Chinese, Filipino, German, Indonesian, Korean, Russian and Thai. The feedback we have had so far has been positive, there are issues with translation, but as it is a Google project the quality of the translation tool will continue to improve.
Below we have taken a number of screen shots from the Institute for Cultural Diversity website, visit their site if you would like to have play with the tool your self, you will find it on the left hand side of the screen below the menus. Take the time to look at the site while you are there - it is a fantastic resource!
Click on the images below for screen shots of the translate tool in action.
